Barbara Goldin (nee Borbereki) 

Barbara is a Sydney based artist where she works and teaches. She travels widely around Australia to paint the unique landscape that she loves.

Born in Hungary Barbara was educated in South Africa.  She studied fine arts at Sorbonne University, Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris.  Where she also attended drawing classes at Académie de la Grande Chaumière and graphics at Ecole Superior des Arts Modernes.

In South Africa she worked at Killarney Film Studios, Johannesburg, as a graphic artist, followed by several years as the owner and manager of a commercial art gallery.  During this period she developed her art further, focussing on her painting and exploring other media including mosaic and ceramics.  While in South Africa she painted under her maiden name  Barbara Borbereki.

Barbara emigrated to Australia in 1978 where she worked and exhibited under her married name Barbara Goldin.  In Adelaide she studied jewellery at O’Halloran Hill College  of  Further Education and obtained her Advanced Art and Craft Certificate in silver smithing. 

She moved to  Sydney in 1981 where she continued to paint and  worked on numerous large scale-mosaic commissions. In 1983 Barbara began teaching painting, drawing, botanical illustration, and ceramics at various  Art Centres.  She continues to enjoy teaching.

Barbara has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and South Africa. 
Her  work  features  in  the  Peter  Stuyvesant Art Foundation,  Johannesburg, the
